Top BASIC HANGUN SAFETY This class is designed for new shooters or those who have been away from firearms for a while. The course covers many aspects of shooting handguns such as stance, grip, and sight picture. You will understand differences between the many types of calibers and types of guns available. Most importantly, you will receive quality hands-on instruction with a variety of handguns including .22 revolvers, semi-automatics, and several different 9mm pistols.
Sharp Shooting Indoor Range requires this class for anyone between the ages of 14 and 18 before they may shoot a handgun at our facility. Those under the age of 14 may shoot .22 rifles only. Parents must attend with their minor.
The class fee is $85.00 if prepaid 24 hours in advance, or $95 the day of the class. This includes all supplies necessary for the class such as ammunition, eye and ear protection, targets, gun rentals, and instruction.
Classes are held on a weekly basis to accommodate your busy schedule. Please check with a range employee for class dates.
This program is also available for private groups.
Top FIREARMS OWNERSHIP & YOU FIREARMS OWNERSHIP & YOU will give you all the information you need to be a responsible gun owner. There are many questions regarding transportation, storage, self-defense, and concealed carry laws. There will be a discussion on the use of force in Washington State and an introduction to the concept of the use of force continuum. A brief discussion of the psychological preparation and effects before and after a self-defense incident will occur as well. This class is a prerequisite for Defensive Handgun I and Defensive Shotgun. The cost of this class is $60.00.
Top DEFENSIVE HANDGUN I DEFENSIVE HANDGUN I covers all aspects of tactical shooting. You will learn carry techniques, drawing from a holster effectively. Shooting while moving and using hard cover in a defensive manner will be taught. This program will also cover malfunction drills and introduction to low light shooting.This class provides practical shooting drills on the range and a tactical course of fire will be set up to improve and test your skill. Shooters attending this program will need a firearm, suitable holster, magazine pouches, and approximately 250-300 rounds of ammunition. This class is taught in one session and varies from 4-6 hours depending on the number of participants. Prerequisites: Basic Handgun Safety or instructor approval, Firearms Ownership and You. The cost is $135.
Top DEFENSIVE HANDGUN II DEFENSIVE HANDGUN II provides a follow-on layer to Defensive Handgun 1, Firearms Ownership and our Basic Handgun Safety Class. This class is intended to develop and refine defensive shooting skills, as well as providing an introduction to advanced tactical employment of handguns. Topics addressed will include engaging multiple targets, use of cover and concealment, employment of the handgun from concealment, low-light environments, alternative shooting positions, movement techniques, weapon retention and close-quarters shooting techniques. Prerequisites: Defensive Handgun 1, Firearms Ownership & You, Basic Handgun Safety or Instructor Approval. This class will require approximately 350-400 rounds of ammunition, a suitable firearm, holster and magazine pouches, magazines sufficient to complete shooting drills and other supplies to be determined prior to the class date. The cost for this course is $ 135.00.
Top LOW LIGHT DEFENSIVE TACTICS LOW LIGHT DEFENSIVE TACTICS provides the student with a uniform understanding of the selection, carry, and employment of a flashlight in tactical scenarios. Course curriculum includes: selection of a tactical flashlight, carry, employment of lights in both shoot and don't shoot scenarios, shooting positions with flashlights, weapon mounted light applications and a variety of other low-light related topics. The class will include a low-light, live fire session. This class requires the student to provide a suitable handgun, at least 150 rounds of ammunition, a holster and magazine pouches. An appropriate flashlight is strongly encouraged and several are available for purchase. This class is approximately three hours and is $75.

REFUSE TO BE A VICTIM Learn techniques to keep you and your family safe. Refuse to be a Victim ™ is a national program designed to give you tools to keep your home, automobile, computer, and personal data secure and “crime proof.” Law enforcement can’t be everywhere. Take responsibility for your own safety. Young adults are particularly vulnerable to crime and emphasis will be placed on helping resolve issues that apply to rental living, college campus security, dating and other safety risks. Classes are offered frequently through Sharp Shooting Indoor Range & Gun Shop, Spokane Parks and Recreation and the Institute of Extended Learning and the Community Colleges of Spokane. Top WOMEN & GUNS I
This class is designed for women who are interested in a firearm for self-defense. The course covers many aspects of shooting such as stance, grip, and sight picture. You will understand differences between the many types of calibers and guns available. Most importantly, you will receive quality, hands-on instruction with a variety of handguns intended to make it easier for the individual to choose the right defensive handgun.
The program also covers self-defense issues to consider, including environmental awareness and family safety. Women who are interested in non-lethal safety information should obtain a course description for Refuse to be a Victim.™ During the course of the 4-hour seminar, you will shoot different styles and calibers to help familiarize you with features available.
The class fee is $125. This includes all supplies necessary for the class such as ammunition, eye and ear protection, targets, gun rentals, and instruction. Classes are held monthly or bi-monthly depending on demand. Please check with a range employee for details.
Top WOMEN & GUNS II
Women & Guns I or instructor approval is a pre-requisite for this program. It is advised that you have your own gun. If you do not, please contact the range to make arrangements to use one of our guns. Your firearm must be a .380 ACP or larger caliber. You will need a hip holster, magazine pouch for a semi-automatic or speed-loaders for you revolver. You will also need approximately 300 rounds of ammunition.
This class will review safety, provide the content of our Firearms Ownership & You class, and move quickly to the shooting portion of the program. The program will inclulde, malfunction drills, speed drills, use of cover and much more.
This class is scheduled for 7 hours. Please plan on a quick lunch or brown bag.
The class cost is $135.
Top MARKSMANSHIP 101
Marksmanship 101 is a class that develops and enhances your marksmanship potential. From the beginner to the advanced shooter, this class will teach you about different techniques to improve your scores and overall performance of shooting a handgun. This class covers all aspects of marksmanship training. You will learn techniques to increase your shooting ability. Some of the principles you will learn in the class are dry-fire rituals, trigger control, breath control, sight alignment, and sight picture. This class will include practical marksmanship training on the range. Items needed for the course: you will need a handgun and at least 2 boxes of ammunition, as this is not included in the fee of the class. Bring yourself and an open mind. We will take care of everything else.
This class is taught in one session and is 2 - 2 1/2 hours long. Please check with a Range Officer for scheduled times. The cost is $75.
Top DEFENSIVE SHOTGUN
Explore the defensive shotgun and learn about the pros and cons of one of the most effective defensive tools that is available to you. This class will cover proper use and selection of ammunition, history of the police/tactical shotgun, and practical application on the range. It dispels some of the myths as well as informs you about the limitations of the shotgun in a relaxed environment. In addition it teaches the basics of proper loading, unloading, safe storage and techniques for using the tactical shotgun safely.
This class will last approximately 4 hours depending on the size of the class and will require a minimum of 25 rounds of ammunition. Shot size must be larger than #6 and must be reliable in your gun if using an autoloader. The student must wear athletic shoes, and be prepared for physical activity. This class is scheduled approximately once every 2 to 3 months and is usually held on a Saturday morning. Check with a range employee for the next session. Price is $75.00
This class is taught in one session and is 3 hours long. Please check with a Range Officer for scheduled times. The cost is $55.
Top WOMEN'S SELF DEFENSE
Learn techniques that will help you plan for a potential attack. Planning is the key to survival and this class will give women the mental and physical tools necessary to make appropriate and expedient decisions in the time of adrenaline and emotion. This class is suitable for ages 12 and up. Avoidance and awareness are key to this program but in the event you cannot avoid an attack, you need to know how to defend yourself. A portion of this class is hands on, comfortable clothing is suggested. The cost is $45.
Top KUBATON/EXPEDIENT WEAPON SELF DEFENSE
This class is an excellent choice for women looking for a non-lethal self defense options. It is appropriate for high school and college age girls. The KUBATON is an easy to use key chain that will assist in breaking off an attack and allowing escape. Expedient Weapon Self Defense means whatever you have available to you to use defensively. Training takes approximately 3 hours and is a hands-on class. The price is $55.00.
Top WOMEN'S SELF DEFENSE This program is designed to give you tools to develop your own personal protection plan. The focus is on crime prevention and unarmed self-defense, the first step for all defensive issues and recommended for even those with a firearm. Sign up for the all day Crime Prevention/Women's Self Defense and Women & Guns and receive a 10% discount off both classes. That is a savings of $17. Crime Prevention/Women's Self-Defense is $55.
Top 2 DAY DEFENSIVE HANDGUN Our two day Defensive Handgun class is structured for the intermediate to advanced shooter. The class will cover the basics such as selection and placement of defensive and concealed carry equipment, caliber and ammunition selection, the fundamentals of drawing from a holster, post conflict recovery, defensive shooting positions and techniques as well as an introduction into low light tactics. We will also examine the physical and psychological effects of use of deadly force, and Washington RCW's which pertain to the use of force.
This is a shooting class. You are required to have completed our Basic Handgun Class, Women & Guns I, or have prior instructor permission.
Students are required to provide a suitable defensive handgun (.380 ACP/.38 special or larger), 700-1,000 rounds of FMJ ammunition, a suitable strong-side or inside the waistband holster (no cross-draw, shoulder, purse/fanny pack holsters or ankle holsters allowed), a minimum of 2 magazines or speed-loaders, and magazine pouch. This is not a beginning shooting class or a marksmanship course; it is designed to take the intermediate to advanced shooter to the next level.
